Mahjong Night by Rose & Bee

Host guide

Everything you need to organize tables, rotate players and keep the night moving.

1. Set up the event

Add the event name, date, start time, venue, address, notes, number of games and expected game length. The number of games is a plan, not a requirement — you can end the night early and keep all finalized scores from the games you played. Choose Social play for relaxed rotations or Tournament for a more structured event.

2. Add the players

Enter one to 100 names or load a saved roster. Players do not need accounts. Add optional email addresses in the same order when you want to send invitations and event updates. A one-table event can continue with fewer than four attending players. With more than four attending, Mahjong Night creates only complete four-player tables and rotates any extra players through sit-outs between games.

3. Choose the first-game seating

Review and adjust every first-game table before play begins.

4. Manage changes

Add a late player, substitute one player for another or mark someone absent before starting. Absent players remain in the event record and can be marked attending again. A single table may continue with fewer than four attending players; when more than one table is in play, each active table remains a four-player table and extra players are assigned as sit-outs.

5. Record results

Select the winning player and enter the printed value for the winning line. The jokerless-hand bonus defaults to 20 points, the drawn-winning-tile bonus defaults to 10 points and a wall game defaults to 10 points per player. The host can change all three values for the event, and Mahjong Night uses the saved event values when it calculates each finalized table result.

If your group uses penalties, turn on Allow player deductions in Seating and scoring. On each table result, you can apply a suggested discarded-winning-tile deduction or choose another penalty and enter your own amount. Deductions are subtracted from that player’s event total and may produce a negative score.

Save each table result before moving on. Only saved results affect standings. When you are finished — even if you play fewer games than planned — select End night & keep scores to finalize the event with the scores already recorded.

6. Correct a score

Open the relevant game and table, select Correct this result, make the change and save it. Saved results remain locked until the organizer deliberately opens the correction workflow. Mahjong Night retains the original result in the event record.

7. Share and preserve the event

Send invitations to attending players with email addresses. Each guest receives a private link to accept or decline without creating an account and can use the link again to change their response. Mahjong Night refreshes RSVP statuses for the host and updates pre-event attendance. Send an event update whenever details change. Canceling an event automatically emails players who previously received an invitation. You can also add the event to Apple, Google or Outlook calendars, print, copy or export table assignments and final results. Saved events sync privately to your account across devices.
